It was our first pregnancy back in 2016, so we didn't know anything about preeclampsia. I was swollen on my feet and arms for a long period; they say it was just normal. My blood pressure was always perfect; I had no headaches, no blurry vision, only swelling. Some people were worried about my swelling, but my doctor said it was just normal, and we believed it.
At 39.5 weeks, I got severe pain in my lower back. It was scrusatiing, it was constant, it was not like they told us the contraction should be. We finally called the hospital. I was diagnosed with preeclampsia after a few tests, and my blood pressure was very high. I had an emergency C-section, and my son was born sleeping due to placental abruption caused by preeclampsia. Apparently, he lost all his air. They had to give me anestesia When I wokeup my son had already passed away.
