6 days after I gave birth to my second baby I went in to the ER because I had experienced fevers and extreme pain in my left side and shoulder. I was diagnosed with postpartum preeclampsia with severe features and sepsis. I spent 3 weeks in the hospital and had to have 2 surgeries due to vernix caseosa peritonitis. I only had short visits with my newborn baby and my toddler and missed 3 weeks with them. I’m so thankful for my two babies but would never go through another pregnancy after my experience.
