I walked 3 miles a day and ate really healthy and kept my stress at a minimum. My grandma had pre-e with both my dad and uncle so it was something I kept in the back of my head. It wasn’t until I rounded out the 3rd trimester feeling sick and exhausted, barely able to do anything else than go to work, walk my dog, and go to bed. I labored for 3 days on a mag drip, and my baby was almost placed in the NICU due to some hypothermia. After a week, I was discharged; baby and I did really well, but I always still carry the fear of what would happen if my blood pressure spikes. I mourn the delivery that pre-e stole from me. This event has made me focus on my overall health and focus on the miracle of modern medicine having saved my baby and I.
This is my preeclampsia story. And it is a hard one. But it is mine.
