I remembered the day like it was yesterday. I woke up with a headache knowing I just found out 5 days ago that I was told I have preeclampsia. I knew nothing about this pregnancy health risk, until now that is. On 10/07/19 I was 32 weeks and about 4 days. I got dressed for my prenatal check up. At my check up I didn’t know my blood pressure was so high. Over 140. I went home after being checked and when I made it home my doctor office called me telling me they need me to go to the hospital for a ultrasound and to monitor the baby to make sure she’s well. I went back and went to L&D. Her heart beat was slower than usual. Already was dilated 2cm. No contractions through the pregnancy. They told me I need to get an ultrasound done now because she was not moving much at all. I make it up there and waited to be called. I
talked to my oldest brother on the phone for about 30-40 mins before going back. When I made it I was feeling fine other than the headache I still had from when I woke up. About 5 or maybe 10 mins into my ultrasound the tech told me she needed to get some paper for the printer. She went to look in the cabinets. And there I was laying on my back started to notice the room moving. Was it me? Yes. My head was turning to the left and I couldn’t stop it. I said “mama something this wrong!” She said are you okay? I said “no I can’t stop my head from moving.” I had no control over my body what so ever. My head started turning to the left until it couldn’t turn anymore while I was laying on my back. She started calling my name. Then Out I went. My first seizure. I came alert a min or so after. She’s still calling my name. I said please call my mom and my bd!. Out I go again. This time a little longer. I wake up again from my second seizure. I’m surrounded by my OB, another OB and 4 nurses and my tech. All talking around me. All I heard was “seizures” and I was out again until after they safely delivered my beautiful daughter. I had the total of 7 seizures along with 1 on the table. & even on the elevator. If it wasn’t for all of those wonderful doctors and nurses. We would not have been here.. I’m currently 28 weeks with my second child(another girl) and also showing signs of preeclampsia. I’m less nervous now because I know what to expect and have read about it but this pregnancy is not as smooth as the first one was .
I had a completely healthy pregnancy up until 38 weeks. The previous week I got my blood levels tested and the urine test done, but everythin...
