Ebubechukwu, a Miracle Baby Born Weighing 1lb after Preeclampsia and HELLP

I was diagnosed with preeclampsia at 22 weeks, my blood pressure was very high. I was sent to the high rush hospital at Montefiore. I had swollen feet, and water in my lungs and other organs. I was scared, very nervous but still hopeful. While at the hospital my blood pressure went extremely high. Then I was sent to the ICU for about 3 days. My condition stablized and was sent back to the regular labor floor, at which I stayed a week till I was 24 weeks gestational. At the tenth day in the hospital I was diagnosed with HELLP syndrome. I was immediately sent to the labor room for an emergency c-section. I was given more than 6 blood transfusions. My son was born at 24 weeks, weighing 1 pound and 5 ounces. He stayed in the NICU for 4 months till he was 7 pounds. Many nights I was very depressed and worried about his well being till he was finally home. I am a preeclampsia HELLP syndrome survivor.
