The Preeclampsia Foundation has marked Saturday, October 24, 2009, for Saving Grace: A Night of Hope, its 5th annual dinner and program benefiting the Preeclampsia Foundation. The theme for this year’s event, which will be held in Chicago, Illinois, is “Celebrating Our Voices, Remembering Our Stories,” highlighting stories of hope, courage and inspiration – storytelling with a purpose.

- Award-winning veteran Chicago broadcaster Sylvia Ewing to host
- Dr. Michael Wolf, Director, Center for Communication in Healthcare Institute for Healthcare Studies, Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine to highlight the impact of health literacy efforts on patient outcomes
- Honorees include Dr. James Martin, University of Mississippi, recipient of the Hope Award for Lifetime Achievement;
John & Brenda Warner, The Chairman’s Hope Award; and two deserving researchers who will receive $50,000 in grant funding from the Preeclampsia

The Preeclampsia Foundation is a U.S.-based nonprofit organization (501(c)(3) established in the year 2000 to fund and drive research, raise public and professional awareness, and provide support and education for those whose lives have been touched by preeclampsia and other hypertensive disorders of pregnancy. Preeclampsia affects 5%-8% of all pregnancies and can be fatal to mother and/or baby.
