Preeclampsia Foundation groups are sprouting up all over the country, with over
25 states represented. We even have contingencies in Canada and elsewhere
around the globe. If you are interested in participating in a local chapter, check the
Local Groups Forum. If you sign the Preeclampsia Registry,
you can choose to be contacted about participating in a group in your area. Participation is free and entirely voluntary.
Local groups can be responsible for:
Providing a community to women who have been impacted by this disorder. That may include visiting the woman in the hospital, helping a family whose mom is on bed-rest, or stopping by to help after the baby is born. All this depends on the women and their level of interest.
Raising funds for our programs and services. Group monies have been earmarked for raising awareness and we will have annual events. Your
group can meet once a month or twice a year-or only online-but gather together once a year to raise funds and to make the community aware that you have been impacted by this disorder.
Raising awareness- through word of mouth, patient education seminars,
special events, the press, speakers bureau, or letter writing campaigns.
Supporting local training and education for medical care providers including birthing coaches, nurse-midwives, doctors, doulas, and clinics.
