Hi. I'm new to posting here. But, I read your post and wanted to respond. Did your doctor say you carry thalassemia? I carry beta-thalassemia. My husband had to be tested to make sure he didn't carry it as well. I always show up as anemic, but I had them check my actual iron level (ferritin test) and that came back fine. So I wasn't actually iron deficient. Sounds like what you have may be something different if iron really is the issue, but I thought I'd through this out there in case the word "thalassemia" rang a bell.

that is great news! I am so glad your doc was great and gave you her personal pager, what trust! I am not sure what the blood cell thing is either but will just hope and pray that your dh doesn't have it too.

Had another appointment yesterday, I am 14weeks and 5days.

I PASSED the 3hour GTT! I couldn't believe it, I thought for sure I was gonna fail since I got so sick during the test.

The good news is I don't have GD, bad news is I'll have to take another 3hour at 28weeks. Oh well, at least I don't have to worry about that horrible diet for now. [;)]

I failed my anemia test though, but big whoop, I take an Iron pill. The doc suspected the anemia because I've been seeing stars, she said since it was too early for PE, it could be anemia and sure enough!

She also said I have some rare disorder with my blood cells. They are too small? She gave me the term, but it was a HUGE word. So DH has to go in and get tested. If he too has the small blood cell thing the baby could potentially get some serious Iron problems. But I highly doubt it, DH is as healthy as an ox. He is never sick. And nevermind DS is completely fine.

Well thats my update, I am all [:D]. I just can't get over the fact NOTHING MAJOR IS WRONG. Who knows, maybe this pregnancy will be ok after all. Thanks for all your support, and allowing me to vent my craziness from time to time.

My next appointment is 08/16, and I'll have my u/s then. I can't wait to find out what I am having.

Oh yeah, one last thing, I told my doc how I've been treated lately. She was very sympathetic and gave me her pager number for future scares. (I promised not to abuse it!) She ran one of those old fashion u/s to make sure baby was ok from my fall two weeks ago. And called the cardiologist about the High Heart Rate. She thought I should switch to a different BP medicine, one with better rate control!
