I really feel for you! I was due to have our son in August and due to complications from HELLP Syndrome he was still-born by cesarean section on Jully 11, 2010.
I was instructed to go visit with a maternal-fetal medicine specialist. So I did, and I was told that it is safe for me to try again in a few months (to ensure my C-section is fully healed (about 6 months total) I was also tols that the moment I find out that I am pregnant I will need to take baby asprin daily along with my prental vitamins. Of course like everyone else with complications my pregnancy will now be considered "high-risk".
I wish we could start trying now, but I know it is better for me not to. especially since I gained 50 pounds with my last pregnancy (I am trying to safely lose the weight in a healthy manner before getting pregnant again.

Don_alvin-I wish you nothing but blessings with future pregnancies.

Thank you for your comforts....advices. May be God has a reasons, why it happened. But still, I thank the Lord Almighty for keeping my wife safe and alive. In due time, we know God will bless us what we long for.

I am so sorry for your loss and as I sit here in front of my computer with tears in my eyes, I feel your pain and your emptiness. Its only been 2 weeks for you and I know where I was at 2 weeks after losing my baby boy (7 weeks ago due to HELLP abruptly). Its like a never ending nightmare you can't wake up from. I too had regular prenatal visits, vitamins, uneventful pregnancy until that day and then just like that, he was gone. PE/HELLP are terrible conditions with no known cause and no reason why it affects the women that it affects. I'm very grateful that your wife is alive.

But all hope is not lost. When you and your wife are ready you can see a MFM (maternal fetal medicine) specialist. They can run a panel of tests to check for underlying disorders, they will be able to give you an idea of risk of recurrence with future pregnancies, as well as how long before trying again. So sorry for your loss again. Wishing you God's peace and healing.

Alvin, I'm so so sorry about your baby boy. My baby girl was due on the day your wife had the c-section, but she was born back in June instead and didn't make it either.
I would suggest you see a maternal-fetal medicine specialist (also called a perinatologist). They will be best able to give you some idea of your chances for a successful future pregnancy and how much time you should allow before trying again.
Good luck, and again I'm so sorry about your baby boy.

severe preeclampsia with Oligohydramnios

Postby don_alvin » Fri Oct 08, 2010 02:50 am

want to share our fate recently... we're here in the Philippines. My wife is expected to give birth on October 10, 2010. Sad to say, my wife suffered severe preeclampsia with Oligohydramnios last September 23, 2010 abruptly. Our first child (baby boy) died in his mother's womb...Got operated for ceasarian on September 24 after unsuccessful delivery thru induce.
It's a surprised for us why it happened, my wife pre-natal check up, vitamins, foods are properly monitored. We're both 32 years of age.
I know this is a hard moment for us...I want to know if given a chance to be a parents again, is it safe? What should we do? How long should be the preparations? need ur advices....thank u.
