Hi Guys-
Im STILL working on securing a spot for the Grand Rapids, MI walk....there are a lot of walks going on in this area in May, and a lot of run around...grrrrr! Anyways, in my area, premits to hold the walk are going to cost between $200 to $ the foundation going to pay for the permit???

Just spoke with Tempe Risk Management.

We need insurance for:

$1,000,000 general liability
$1,000,000 per occurance with a 2,000,000 agragate
auto liablity min of $1,000,000, hired and non-owned
evidence of workers' comp insurance

The liability insurance is a must. $2,000,000 agragate is important. If the other items are not in place, we can discuss it with the city. PF is all volunteer. That makes a difference.

Does all of this sound familiar to you?

In Arizona, we are looking at a very popular place called Tempe Town Lake. Tempe hosts many events like this. In its permit process, it states that insurance must be secured for any event. Events at Tempe Town Lake can have fireworks, water activities, carnival rides, etc. I have put a call in to see what they want for a simple 50-100 person walk with no special requirments. Waiting for a reply.

Question, is insurance available through PF? What should I tell the Tempe Risk Management Dept?

Do I just need to let you know that the city of Hope, Arkansas needs to be insured?

Can you let us know what the number of walkers would need to be to flag the need for a permit? i.e., if a "bunch of us" just got together to walk on that day, with coordinating t-shirts, would be have to jump through all these hoops?

How is everyone doing with securing locations and getting permits? Many of you may need to have your city/location listed as an insured on our liability policy. If so, please let me know.
