Quick update!
18wks 2day Ultrasound - Its a girl! Currently measuring in the 40th% with no signs of IUGR or a sick placenta. We will continue on the lower daily doses of Lovenox and introduce protein shakes as a precaution. The only observation which was less than ideal is the Embelical cord is not centered on the placenta but off to one side.

Hey Ladies!

Update:
We had our first look at the baby with our OB last week. it was a small portable low resolution unit but we saw the baby and heart beat! It looks like the baby is a little younger than originally thought. We have our first detailed ultrasound next week as well as another round of blood work. I am hoping we can stay on the low dose of Lovenox as the bruising gets significantly worse as you increase (In our experience).. This pregnancy has been very different for Holly. Apparently the body now knows where it is going and get's there faster for subsequent pregnancies. Holly is already bigger and sicker! Thankfully the morning sickness is slowly getting better. On the emotional front we are quite solid thus far. We had anticipated being more prone to anxiety and fear, but we are instead trusting and hopeful.

Steady as she goes!

Thanks Ladies!

I thought I would post occasional updates as we work through the pregnancy.

Treatment: 40grams of Lovenox daily on the tummy-region. First OB apointment in a few weeks. First US with NeoNatology in a few weeks.

Observations: Holly is showing WAYYY earlier this go-round! At 10weeks she is already the size she was with Clay at 16-18wks.. The Lovenox is well... Lovenox. The bruising is just aweful and I worry about finding injection sites with over 200 shots to go and the upcoming increase in dose. Holly has felt generally miserable with 1st tri-mester junk every morning and day until 5pm-ish at which point its as if a miracle healing has ocurred and she can eat :) Each day is a little different though.

Thank you Ladies! :) Holly has felt "icky" and at times rather miserable! Such good news!! lol Any deviation from our experience with the first pregnancy we are taking as a good sign including the not so pleasant aspects(reasonably).. She sure is getting the baby pooch quick this time too! The last go round you hardly knew she was pregnant until after 4months.. We're just finding out and the pooch has begun.

Wife's Ego is Prego! (Update: Baby Born!)

Postby poppapig » Tue Mar 24, 2009 02:47 pm

Here we go with round two!

6 Months ago Holly and I formulated a decision matrix of the factors and tasks we needed to consider before making a decision to have another baby. Well last month we decided to git to work and Docs test confirmed yesterday we are Pregnant. Our 36 week due date is Oct 23rd.

Pregnancy plan at this point is:
- Doc preg confirmation (done)
- NeoNatal specialist referral (done)
- Choice OBGYN acceptace (pending)
- NeoNatal consult and Lovenox prescription
- Lovenox daily beginning at 6 to 8wks (here we go..)
- Planned delivery by C-section between 36&37 weeks

This is our ideal path. We'll see what the Lord has planned for us!

Our first pregnancy (IUGR,PE,HELLP/2lb strong boy!):

Clayman will be 2 on May 9th. He's socially ahead of his peer group, but we're still working on language/listening/instruction. He's an absolute joy.. Couldn't have a sweeter son. Oh and he's Gerogous ;)
