I am following this because I have the same question. I had my daughter at 31 weeks with a eclampic episode and my son at 28 weeks do to PIH, my labs were fine, but my son had IUGR measuring at 24 weeks. I was followed by a MFM. I work in high risk L&D and I've seen several ladies that have had it twice before but nothing on the third but I believe they didnt have early onset PreE with their others.

I would also love to hear from others. I developed severe pre-e at 19 weeks and lost my daughter at 20 weeks. Should be given the OK to ttc soon but I worry about what will happen next time since it did begin so early for me.

3rd successful pregnancy after 2 severe pre-e pregnancies?

Postby valdawg20 » Thu Nov 13, 2014 06:06 pm

Hello All! 5 years ago I had a daughter with sever pre-e at 28 weeks (i'm pretty sure it started earlier). She is now healthy and happy with no developmental or physical issues. In January 2014, I had severe pre-e again and delivered at 23 weeks with my little girl not making it. I spoke to a MFM yesterday who said I have a 50% chance of it developing again since it occured so early in my last two pregnancies. I would like to try again because I know many women are on LDA, blood clotting medicines, and vitamins to try to prolong the duration of the pregnancy. My OB/GYN never recommended me to a MFM for my 2nd pregnancy. Since January I have seen many specialists and have completed many tests. As a result of all the testing, I was told that I have unspecified connective tissue disorder, that's it. I wanted to know for women who have had severe pre-e before 25 weeks have you been able to have a successful/midly successful third pregnancy? If so, what did you do differently? I know everyone pregnancy is different and we have various medical histories, but I would like to hear about women who may of went further along in their pregnancies due to a combination of medication therapy. Thanks you!
