Yes, 32 weeks is on the earlier side, but the fact that you were able to stay pregnant for another 5 weeks is great. I was delivered as I was being diagnosed at 32 weeks. Meeting with MFM is a great idea. They will be able to go over everything, test for underlying conditions and help you come up with a plan.

32 weeks isn't ideal, but it's a pretty good place to be. Pre-eclampsia often strikes later in subsequent pregnancies so if you do get it again, hopefully you'll be much farther along.

Is 32 weeks early to develop preeclampsia?

Postby mfred » Sun Aug 11, 638926 11:13 am

I just saw my obgyn yesterday and we were talking about my previous pregnancy 2 years ago in which I had developed preeclampsia at 32 weeks and was on bedrest for 5 weeks. I was asking what the chances are that I would get preeclampsia with a second pregnancy and although she wasn't able to specify (she referred me to a perinatologist), she did mention that since I got it at 32 weeks the first time, I am at a much higher risk because I got it early in the pregnancy.

I was unaware that 32 weeks was considered early to get preeclampsia as many of the posts I have seen have gotten it much early. In your experiences, is 32 weeks considered early in the pregnancy to develop preeclampsia?
