Thank you all for your encouraging and kind words[:)] They mean so so much to me!!
Yes, PCOS and PE are linked together. If you have PCOS you can get PE. I didn't know that until AFTER I had PE but am glad I do now!!
My obgyn called me and told me that he looked at the blood test and it didn't show any testing for my insulin levels but only showed my blood sugar and he really wants the insulin levels. He said that not all women who have PCOS are insulin resistant but most are and dosn't want to give me something if I don't need it. So... I called my PCP back and I go in on Wednesday at 815 for a fasting blood insulin level test. Last time my dr. got the results back in 2 days so I am hoping that it will be the same.

Jen,
I would either have your obgyn do the test or your pcp because of my insurance I had to have my pcp do the blood test. Tell them you want them to run a blood test to make sure everything is working they way it should because you are trying to get pregnant. Good luck to you!!!

Thanks again everyone for everything I will let you know once my obgyn calls me back next week with the test results. I am figuring since Monday is Christmas I will call him Wednesday afternoon. Like I said I will keep you all posted and keep the awesome thoughts and prayers coming!!![:D][:D]

Holly, I so know how you feel - the journey to pregnancy should not be so hard when we both know how hard the ACTUAL pregnancy will be for girls like us... feels like we can't catch a break doesn't it? Well hang in there, its good to know that the met together with the clomid will help you -- and I've seen a ton of women on the TTC boards I go to who have used the combination and gotten preggers quite quickly so I'd say you are in good hands! Take care, keep us updated!

...now I wonder if I should get tested for insulin resistance??? What kind of test diagnosed it for you?

Holly,

It sounds like you have great drs and a plan....have faith, my best friend has pcos and was on metformin during and after some failed ivfs and while on metformin got pregnant 2x...with full term healthy babies......no pre e for her at all.....she did have pih and gd with her first pregnancy, her son, but surprisingly with her 2nd pregnancy she never developed gd and was just on bp meds until her 40 week induction, and her daughter was in the low 8 pound range......she had excellent drs and was monitored closely by her mfm and fertility specialist and both pregnancies were "surprises"......just hoping you have some happy news soon!

Well, having PCOS makes you more likely to get PE- it isn't that the PCOS causes the PE, rather the insulin resistance makes you more likely to get PCOS AND PE. Aren't we lucky?

Hang in there, missy! There are *lots* of us PCOS girls around here-- it'll still happen for you, especially with the help you're getting. I didn't do the metformin or clomid, but still ended up conceiving *twice* more after diagnosis. Keeping fingers crossed it'll happen for you quickly!
