Kara,

yeah we aren't telling Dh's parents because they will over react about it and focus only on that and not Braden as himself. I haven't told a lot of people. I'm not ashamed I just don't want people to focus on the sensory and OCD and not Braden.

Thanks again Kara you've really been so kind and helpful during this!

Hey Holly,
We've already chatted, but I just wanted to let you know that after having a sensory kid since birth, it does get easier and more managable, especially as Braden will get the tools to help him cope. Know one besides us and her teachers know that she has sensory issues. He'll get some great tools and things will get better, and rather quickly. You'll probably be amazed with the turn around.

Update on us

Postby mommy1st » Tue Aug 27, 638622 4:05 pm

Hi all! Things have been real busy lately and I thought I would give you an update on how everythign is going.
We had a big move this summer in the beginning but are all settled in and love our new place. It's closer to Dh's work which means we get to enjoy him coming home for lunch and being home earlier after work:)

Alexa is now 8.5 months old crawling, standing up and eating like crazy! She babbles "ma-ma"" 24/7 and I LOVE IT!!

Braden will be 4 years old on Saturday, sob, sob, sob!!!! I can't believe my preemie will be 4 and not only that he will be starting preschool on August 31st!!!
During the last 4 months or so we have been seeing some red flags with Braden where his sensory is concerned and his hearing. I already talked to the dr. last Friday and they believe from everything they have asked me about him and such that he has got sensory dysfunction disorder and OCD. The dr. is putting in a referral to a Child phycologist and an OT. We go on the 25th for his 4 yr checkup and we will know more. For now, that is the diagnosis and thought. It's hard to hear but I know that we caught it at a good time and that we can only make it better or managelable for Braden and for the family.

Here are some pictures of my cuties:) Hope everyone else is doing well and had a great summer!
