Gosh, I was a 6 weeker too!! That is with round the clock pumping and eventually exclusive BFing... 8 months sounds great!! ;)

Late to the party here, but my first time around it came back around 6 weeks even tho I was pumping around the clock. This one I quit BF after a month and it didn't come back until 3 months. Silver Lining Alert: I totally plateaued on weight loss until after my first AF...now I'm losing weight commensurate with my eating. My body and I have finally agreed I am no longer pregnant or BFing and it has agreed to cooperate with my weight loss plans! Got a lot of work to do after my Christmas Cookie Extravaganza last Dec...

I did 8 months and 14 months. The first was 2 days after a change in birth control method, one day only, followed by a "real" period at 10 months during the final days of pump weaning. The second was two weeks after complete weaning.

So, if it takes 14 months then it takes 14 months. :) I was happy for the break.

Well, I now have my answer. And, couldn't have picked a worse day...the morning I was headed off to the airport to travel alone with the 2 kids. Well, 6 1/2 months with Jonathan :)

Yup, and some of us breastfeed and STILL get it back after 6 weeks. Harumph ;-)

That'd be me too. Both times. I had 4-5 weeks of lochia and a week or so of no bleeding before it came back. And with both I was breastfeeding and pumping 3-4 hourly around the clock. I felt so ripped off ;)

Mine has come back between 6 months and 11 months with each of my kids. I know women who have nursed non-stop and still had it come back at 2 months [my friend was nursing a baby AND a toddler and hers still came back at 8 weeks!] and I know other women who will not see a single period until the baby weans [one of my friends went two years LOL!].

Good luck! It seems to vary a LOT depending on the individual.

I stopped pumping at 4 months, and here we are with an almost 11-month-old baby and no regular cycle to speak of. I had one period over a month ago, so we'll see if things start to kick in now.

I think mine was either 2 or 3 months -- my Ob/Gyn was suprised. We had BF complications (ended up with low supply and had to do half formula), I don't know if that had anything to do with it.
