I have a good update this time. Evan is my little amazing man. He pulled himself to a stand yesterday and he also sat himself up for the first time yesterday. He has to work so hard to get there but he still did it. Next week he has his 5 area eval and speech eval through Early Intervention it will be nice to have his therapy at home now. I am pritty happy with his progress so far since he started PT but he still can't roll over, scoot or crawl but one or in his case 2 new skills at a time is fine with me.
Yeah!!!!

Denise, I am so sorry. In some ways it is so great to have answers and in others, well....

Evan has a mild case of cerebral palsy. His body is very stiff and we have to stretch out and losen his muscles and teach him to flex because he naturally wants to be in extention. That is why it is so hard to carry and hold him because he is always leaning back and pushing away. I thought he just didn't like to be held but it was explained to me that that is where he goes when he is relaxed. Most babies when they are relaxed would flex there arms, legs, and torso to curl up into you, I guess kinda molding to fit in your arms where Evan stretches out where his legs and arms are straight when he is relaxed.

I will have another update on Friday.

Nancy I emailed you.

Hey Denise,

How is Evan? His eval is tomorrow and I just wanted to send my thoughts and prayers for a good visit. E-mail me. The details are tough to swallow.

My goodness, Denise! Poor Evan! I am sure you are nervous, anxious and hopeful for the PT eval next week (I am). I am praying that you will have answers soon and that they will know how to help him progress and that his ears and reflux heal! The 19th is on my calender.

I took Evan back to the dr because he hasn't gotten any better and found out his ear is still infected. We started him on his second round of antibiotics so hopefully this one will help. Dr thinks if we can get the reflux under control the ear infections will go away, I sure hope so.

He goes in for his physical therapy eval next week and hopefully we will learn if he has cp. I am told that the therapist really know there stuff so if they see a prob than we will see a neuro dev team. He is really doing great I see his progress everyday so hopefully this will just be something to give him a little boost.

Thank for your thoughts and prayers. I haven't heard anything about tubes yet, hopefully it will all pass. I forgot, Evan also needs to see an opthmologist for a possible lazy eye, so add that one to the list. His ped is concerned because he doesn't rollover or scoot yet at 6 months, but he has only been able to hold his head up when he is on his stomach for 3 weeks or so. Evan started to sit without support, sometimes he gets too excited and will loose his balance but for the most part he stays up so to me that is very good progress. I have been practicing with him so hopefully he will catch up some by his next visit. He is my little man and we will love him dearly no matter what happens.
