Just wanted to also say welcome. We took pictures of my son with my husband's wedding ring for a size comparison. Pace yourself during this challenging time. Sending my thoughts and prayers to you while your little boy keeps growing.

Oh that is great report on Joshua! Sometimes coming off of CPAP to cannula also makes the baby work a little harder at first to breathe...thus expending calories.

I'm so glad to hear that you can see his whole face. I remember that feeling like it was yesterday.

Grow Joshua! Hang in there Shelly. Being a NICU mom can be a bit stressful and tiring, but rewarding as you see your baby starts to make steady progress.

Hi again everyone. Joshua has been off the CPAP for about 24 hours and is doing very well. He is just on 30% o2 through a nasal cannula. His weight today was 894 grams down 7 ounces but we think it may be from coming off the CPAP. They said sometimes they retain a lot of water while on it and he was probably weighed with it on.
Otherwise he is doing great. Much better than expected. It is so nice to actually be able to see his face.

I am so glad that Joshua is doing well. What a great step on getting off the vent...I remember being so excited and anxious at the same time when my daughter was taken off of the vent. He is growing so fast.

Take as much care of yourself as possible...NICU can be draining in itself and to have other children to care for at the same time can be exhausting. Nice husband to make you take the mini-vacation. I'll keep your family in my prayers.

Thanks for all the great idea's. One of the first pics we took was his hand in each of ours. I am amazed at how much he has changed already at only 3 weeks! He was off the vent today and I pray he is able to stay off it atleast for a few days.
I am doing pretty good. Seem to have some lasting effects of the PE. I developed some heart issues and I go for an Echo tomorrow. Otherwise I am just tired. With 2 older kids in baseball and everything I am getting pretty worn out. My husband is making me take a mini-vacation this weekend so that will help a little.
