Re: This is starting to feel real
We had our 8w2d appt today, and the baby grew! I was just happy enough to see that the baby was still alive. Last week, it looked 4 days behind, but now, only a week later, it looks just 1 day behind. The dr said that it can be hard to measure so early on because those little guys hide into the placenta and they're so small anyway. Everything looks great and completely normal. Heartbeat was strong at 160 bpm.
It's exciting to be 8 weeks now, a little farther away from the miscarriage scare. I take my last progesterone dose tonight. That feels a little weird, but my doctor is sure that I don't need it anymore.
If all goes well, we're thinking of telling people on Thanksgiving. I should have one more appt before then.

This is starting to feel real
Nine days ago, we saw a faint flashing of a heartbeat, but it was too early to hear it. Today, we heard it loud and clear! I should be 7w2d, but the baby is measuring more like 6w5d, so about 4 days behind. This is right on track from what we saw last time too, though, so my doctor said everything is progressing normally. And I didn't get a positive test until 3 days late... so I probably just got pregnant a few days late in the cycle.
I did not know that you could see a heartbeat at 5w3d. My doctor says we likely saw it last time on the day it appeared.
It's starting to sink in now that this could actually happen.
