Tracy, I can't believe they make you go into the office twice a week while on bedrest, see if there's something like homecare that can go to you - that can't be doing your BP any good!! BTW, I think a Wed would be a good day to schedule a C-section, that way my hubby will take off work longer than a week! Let me know how your appt goes today and we'll see if we can't coordinate!! LOL

Therese,

Congrats on 31 weeks! Yipee:) I'm glad to hear that both you and the baby are looking good. Those NST's are aggrivating. It seemed to me the baby never was doing what he was supposed to when he was supposed to[:)]. Take care of yourself and that baby!

Tracy -

That's the day I had today - BPP, level 2 and OB check. They always do NST's with the BPPs - can't have the BPP without it!! Good luck tomorrow! Then I have another NST on Friday, with the OB homecare nurse.

Elizabeth,

I asked the nurse about the 180s and she said they see those when the baby moves around a lot, so I don't know if that's it. I think it was more that it was high, then nothing. I don't know. I think if it was a big deal, I'd be in the hospital.

Therese,
Congrats on 31wks 3days!! that is fabulous! you must be a nervous wreck! I am not sure about the NST, they were always doing that to me, talk about driving a pg woman insane! i don't think they would've let you go anywhere if there were a problem. I know that sustained high heart rates for the baby can be concerning, maybe they were concerned because baby was up in the 180 range. When Indy would get to the 160-170's they got pretty concerned because it was different from her usual 140. They are just being good providers and watching out for anything and everything I am sure.

7/13 Update

Postby twolfgram » Tue Jul 13, 2004 05:22 pm

Well, I've made it to 31 weeks three days! Three weeks longer than I carried Jonathan! Had another appt today - baby scored 8/8 on the BPP and now weighs 3# 14oz!! He's huge!!![8D] The doc said everything looked good, the baby, the blood flow, the placenta, all that. My BP was 100/70 lying down, so that was very nice!

Now, for the NST - the nurse called it "unusual." When they first hooked me up, baby was moving like CRAZY and heartrate was in the 180's, then, after about 15 minutes he settled down and his hr hardly moved from the 150's and he moved maybe once or twice more. The nurse showed the dr and they talked about it, called it unusual and sent me on my way. Now, I'm assuming everything is ok or they'd have said something else or had me do something else, right??

I asked if 39 weeks was still the goal and doc said yes. I asked if we couldn't move it up a little, and she said yes, if I wanted to, they could look at 36 weeks and see how he's doing at that time. I KNOW I should wait as long as possible, but I'm so anxious all the time!

Well, thanks for listening!
