Congratulations......I'm hoping I can go that far. Currently I'm 29 wks and have a history of delivering between 23~25 wks due to severe pe. My baby did not make it last year born too early.
I pray I can get as far as you did.
Were you on any medication during your pregnancy? If so what were u taking? It sounds really scary to run out of anesthia in the middle of a procedure..but at least your baby is home...again congrats...

She was born at the same size/gestation as my Ella! Congratulations on your baby girl! I've got to say, though, as a veteran c-section mama, your experience is my worst fear! No one wants that epi to wear off!

Whew! That's a heck of a "success" story! But I love your attitude because you're right - any birth where mama and baby end up healthy is a good one! For your sake I wish it would have gone easier, though!!

Congratulations!!!

#3!!!!!!!!!!!

Postby jennashell » Thu May 26, 2011 09:44 am

#3 arrived safely!!!! They scheduled the c section for 37 1/2 weeks! I was completely pe free before and after!!!! She is 6lb 1 oz!!! No IUGR this time!! She had fast respirations, and bloodwork showed an infection, so she was taken (right through a tornado) to a hospital with a NICU. She came home after a week and is doing great!

The c-section didn't go so well. Due to the first 2 being emergency cuts, when they opened me up, they realized I was about to rupture, so they had to do some extra stitchig/reinforcement. While doing that, the spinal wore off!!! They ended up having to use general anesthia to finish!!

But, all in all, it worked out great!!!!
Severe eclamptic seizures in the car-no pe diagnosis previously- at 28 weeks. Emergency c section baby born at 2 lb 11 oz. He's now 5 years old!

Pre E with #2 at 32 weeks, emergency c-section at 35 weeks, baby born at 3lb 9oz. She's now 2 1/2!

#3 Pre-E free! Planned c section at 37 1/2 weeks! 1 week in nicu due to breathing and antibiotic treatment.
