Re : nausea meds??
Even the unbranded zofran cost me $40 for 9 pills and then it didn't even work! However, the doc then prescribed me phenegran and it worked really well for me. It did make me REALLY sleepy though...sometimes unexpectedly. So I wouldn't drive while on it.
Re : nausea meds??
Vitamin B6 and Unisom help a lot. You could ask your OB if you can try them if you can't get your prescription meds.

Reglan for me, too. It did make me sleepy so it was rough with a 2 year old on the loose, but it worked. They can also prescribe phenergan (which didn't work as well and is a category C) in both pill and compound - you can rub it on your wrists instead of risking it coming back up - form. I was sick for 32 weeks with E. Blech.

I took reglan when I was having really bad morning sickness. They had given it to my little preemie when she was in the nicu too. It really helped us both :))

Definitely ask for the generic....I think it's Ondansetron or something like that. I only paid 10 dollars a RX with my insurance. Also, if this doesn't work, your doctor can get in contact with your insurance company to let them know this is medically necessary due to hyperemesis. I had to do that with Alex.
Re : nausea meds??
There is a generic of Zofran now that is much cheaper maybe they will pay for that if not you could probably afford it out of pocket. I have also been given phenergan for morning sickness.
Re : nausea meds??
My docs wouldn't give anything to me because I wasn't actually throwing up. But nausea and food aversion so bad that I lost 15lbs. I've heard they'll prescribe Unisom to help with nausea, and you can get that over the counter...but make sure you clear it through your OB first.

I can't believe they are giving you a hard time! But sorry, I don't know of anything else... I just would eat little bits all the time to keep the nausea away.

nausea meds??
I have been takiing Zofran for my morning or all day sickness. I had to call my dr to get it refilled about a week ago, and my insurance company is giving us a little trouble. Ever since I stopped taking it I have been really sick!! Does anyone know of any other medicine I could get that really works and I shouldn't have any problems getting??
