I have 2 little ones that prove that meds don't equal PE. Hang in there.

I don't think they will have you go on meds based only on office readings. When mine started going up at the office visits my peri had me start taking my pressures at home and then they started going up and that's how I got on the meds.

Let us know how your appt. goes on Monday!

Take care!

And I agree with the others that you should really head to the ER and get checked out if you get any more high readings...

I hope that you're able to get lots of rest and keep that bp down...and that you ahve a good appt on Monday!

Not on meds yet. I FULLY expect to be and am fine with it. I just mentally think----meds = PE....the end.... ya know??? I will be keeping a close eye on it at home and pray for today to end...isn't that terrible??? I see my OB monday anyway, so, he can check stuff out. I just don't wanna go on meds based on office readings, ya know? cuz until yesterday, they weren't high at home.

At 16 week my BP was creeping up and by the time I hit 21 weeks I was diagnosed with PIH and put on some meds for it and it has helped! I am now 35.5 weeks pregnant and hadn''t had a issue with ever since then. I hope you don't have to go on meds but just saying that it could happen.

I hope you have a relaxing day today and your BP behaves itself!

Are you on bp meds yet? I know that when my bps started going up around 12 weeks it was time for bp meds for me. I hope that today is not too stressful for you.

Take care.

WEll, after I got ready and drank about 4 cups of water, my bp went down DRASTICALLY. It was up all evening and this morning ranging from 144-160/ 90-100. I took it again and it went down to 134/90. I called my OB back and he said to lay down, drink more, and rest. He asked me if I had anxiety====duh. I do. But I'm still not sure what to think of it all. It's turkey day and its at my house which is stress, but, I don't think its 160 stress. So, he told me to keep and eye on it and I could always come in later----true. Yes, I see a peri on top of the OB. He does all my ultrasounds and will be at delivery. My bp at his office the other day was 142/82 but at home runs high 120's over 70's...unless I'm stressed. I have NEVER seen a 150 or higher this entire pregnancy tho. I'm really nervous but trying to calm down b/c I might be driving it up some myself. Its wayyyyyyyyyyy too early for all this crap. I just hope I can make it......scared.

I'm sorry; it can be so scary when that happens!

Elevated pressures before 20 weeks are almost always the unmasking of chronic hypertension, even if your pressures are normal when you're not pregnant. Let us know if they put you on labetalol or something.

I can't remember; did you have a prepregnancy consult with a high-risk MFM?

Going to the ER.

Postby moreheadcity » Mon Aug 02, 638315 9:04 pm

So, last night my bp SPIKED to like 150/90+ for no reason at all (that I know of) So, I went to bed EARLY and every time i turned over I could feel my heart racing. So, at 5 this morning I called the OB cuz it was 160/100 and he told me to go to the ER. I am so terrified. I am only 14 weeks, what is going on!!?!?!??!?!?!?!?! PRAY FOR ME.
