Hi Kara,
Thanks, because right know I'm a nervous wreck! My creatinine levels were even a little down 0.5 and in the test results it says it should range from 0.6-1.3, but I really don't know what that means. If you do know please let me know. My next 24h will be done a week from monday on the 27th. I just posted another question maybe you can give me an answer there.
thanks a bundle:)

Re : 24 hour results, help please!!
I'm known as a "fluctuator" by my MFM/Peri. I was 184 I think it was in July and I'm only 93.5 as of Monday with my protein. (that's in mg) Sometimes I test 1+ in the office, sometimes I am negative and then next appt is just a trace. I thought originally when the protein started to show up, it would just keeping going up in number. I never realized it could go back down or go away and then come back, especially in a pregnancy. So now, because this is the third pregnancy where we have tracked protein during each trimester and any time the stick test shows more than a Trace, I don't sweat the 1+ in the office. 1+ would indicate more than 1000mg or 1g but when I do the 24 hr test, it's always under 300.... has me perplexed.
Re : 24 hour results, help please!!
Karina,
Women who are pregnant tend to spill more protein than non-pregnant women. So non-pregnant the cutoff for normal is 150. And of course 300 is the normal cutoof for pregnant women. 216 is somewhere in between, so I wouldn't be too concerned. The concern comes in if it continues to go higher. Non-pregnant mine runs about 160. So when I'm pregnant it also runs a bit higher. The most important part of those 24 hour urines is the creatinine clearance. You'll want a normal to high creatinine clearance.
Right now, 216 is "normal". When will you have another 24 hour urine?

Re : 24 hour results, help please!!
Thanks girls, the problem is this is the first time I do a 24h, so I really don't know what my baseline is. Thanks anyways, I just hope this is the begining of going down the same road:(
Re : 24 hour results, help please!!
I am just echoeing what the other girls have said, anything over 300 from what I have read and the 2 readings of 140/90 or higher. I would ask your dr. and see what they think or are going to do, maybe a repeat like Terri said.
Good luck!
Good luck!
Re : 24 hour results, help please!!
Have you had a 24 hr urine before? If so do you remember the number? It does take a reading of 300 AND two readings of 140/90 or higher. If the number is not statistically different (like you got a 150 the first time and a 216 the second) I wouldn't worry. Missing even a little bit can affect the result (albeit slightly).
So, I guess the answer is: depending on your your 'baseline' number it could be something to watch but not fret too much over OR if the baseline was 'higher' then it could mean absolutely nothing at all.
