Yay guys! That's great news for both of you. I've got 38 days to go, not that I'm counting. Smartie, I can't wait to hear about the new baby and I'll be thinking good thoughts for you.

Hi all,

Hope you are all doing well and managed to have a nice holiday season. I hit 37 weeks yesterday and am thrilled to bits. My BP has been increasing the last couple weeks but no protein in urine or anything in my bloodwork. I'm having a scheduled C section based on my docs advice next week. I'm looking forward to meeting our new baby and am quietly confident that PE won't flare up this last week.

Doing good here, too! I'll be 34 weeks on Sunday. My blood pressure is creeping up but slowly. It isn't pre e though, just pih for now. I do weekly bpp ultrasounds until we deliver. I'm nervous my blood pressure cuff isn't accurate so I'm going to take it to compare at my dr appt. Yesterday at the appt it was 143/88. Makes me a little nervous how it's creeping up considering my normal is low 100/low 60s. She's thinking we will have to induce at 37 weeks, preferably 39, unless things go south. But I'm at 34 weeks soon and I'm feeling confident we can get to 37. Crossing my fingers and toes!

Good to hear! We like having these check-ins to know you are all doing okay. <3 It's always a nerve-wracking process being pregnant after PE/HELLP, but we're cheering you on to a PE-free finish line in 2017!!!

Well, so far so good for me. 33 weeks and 3 days, and today's biophysical was great. My BP is holding steady, although I simply can't keep myself from panicking at the doctor's. I had an ugly cry in front of the doctor at the last visit, but I'm grateful that the baby continues to do well despite my anxiety! I'm being extra cautious now because I generally feel crummier as the baby gets bigger and sleeplessness/aches/pains/etc set in. I'm always checking to make sure it isn't my old friend preeclampsia creeping up again. Hope you all are doing well too.

The baby was in the 47% percentile (she seems to bounce around a bit), amniotic fluid was good, and the resistive index in the umbilical cord was good. I'm 31 weeks tomorrow, and generally I feel okay other than typical pregnancy complaints. I got the results of my echocardiogram, and everything was normal there, which I am very grateful for. My heart palpitations have improved, as my doctor suggested they might since most of the cardiovascular changes of pregnancy peak around 28 weeks.

But, I have started to have panic attacks when I get my blood pressure taken at the doctor. I have confirmed that my at-home monitor is appropriately calibrated, so I feel pretty good about the readings I get at home, the average of which is 104/66. At the doctor last week, I could not calm myself down, and she got 145/85, with a heart rate of 144. I had my monitor with me, so I double-checked, and sure enough, it actually read a little higher than that. Of course the nurse was like "is your heart rate normally that fast??" And I could tell she was worried, which made me more worried....My heart does not beat that fast at home. My resting heart rate is certainly faster than pre-pregnancy, but generally when I am resting is it between 80 and 90 bpm. The doctor said he will check things again in two weeks, as long as I am getting okay measurements at home. While initially I thought 2 weeks seemed a bit long, I feel I am able to monitor my blood pressure well at home, along with my weight, swelling etc. I will call the nurse next week to have my urine protein measured. I just had blood work done (liver function included) and all was well. I have not had protein detected in my urine yet. When I left the doctor's office after that appointment, I could feel that I had obviously had a blood pressure spike - headache, exhaustion, etc. I never feel like that at home.

I have another appointment right before Christmas along with another ultrasound in about 9 days. I am really hoping that all is well, both for the baby (obviously) but also so that I can just have Christmas with my family. I realize that my reaction at the doctor is something a little beyond my control, but does anyone have any suggestions for dealing with white coat syndrome?

Do you think after the first reading if they wait another 5 or 10 minutes and take it again you'll be better? I wish I could offer anxiety advice but I have that tendency to do the same. I always ask they wait a few minutes to allow me to try and settle myself in before they take my readings because it is usually high if they take it immediately but it's usually lower the second time

Just had my cardiologist appt. I feel it's a bit overkill because I'm being watched by my obgyn and mfm. My blood pressures no longer really fluctuate anymore. They use to go from like 111/65 and come by evening they're high. But the last couple weeks they're consistently 130s/80s with minor spikes here and there. I'm pretty confident I can get to 37 weeks though. Today's cardiologist appt was basically just to get me as an established patient but didn't really involve much of anything except the advice of drinking lots of water and resting and tk avoid salt like the plague. Things that I've been told already. So lots of repetitive advice will be given here on out by the 3 different doctors. It is not pre e, just pih and hopefully it stays that way. Was supposed to see him again in 4 weeks but they were booked out the next 6 weeks so I'll only see him probably one last time before I give birth. 30 weeks down! Feelin confident I can get as far as I did with my first baby.

I got a call yesterday from the hospital with my c-section booking. February 8th. That seems ridiculous to even consider, haha. I can't fathom still being pregnant at 39 weeks but we shall see. The nurse said "due to some of the information you provided in your pre-surgical questionnaire, the anesthesia team would like to meet with you as well on February 6th." Hahahaha, I told her that if they have concerns they might want to meet sooner than that!
