Thanks for your insight, alviarin. It's good to hear about your experience. I'm glad to know I'm not the only one to experience this (or to recover slowly).

Welcome to the forums.

I'm so sorry for your losss. Recovery after preeclampsia/ HELLP is highly individual. For me personally, after having severe preeclampsia with my first it took a few months for me to feel human again. I'm sure it didn't help that I was severely anemic after delivery.
Hypothyroid mom to
Connor (severe pre-e at 38 weeks)
Claire (dx'd with pre-e and induction at 37 weeks)
Annabelle (chronic HTN & GD, superimposed pre-e @34 weeks, induction @37 weeks)

New here: Recovery time after HELLP

Hello all,
I'm new to this forum and to HELLP syndrome and preeclampsia in general. I was diagnosed with HELLP almost three weeks ago and was induced at just 21 weeks because my liver enzymes were skyrocketing and my platelets were dropping. Unfortunately, 21 weeks was just too early for survival, and we lost our sweet baby.

While I've slowly felt better every day, I still get tired easily, and I can't do all I'm used to doing. For those who have had preeclampsia and/or HELLP, how long did it take for you to recover physically from delivery? This was my first pregnancy, so I'm not sure what's normal—either for a normal pregnancy or for this type of pregnancy.

Thanks all for your insights and experiences!
