When they were getting ready to deliver him they did an ultrasound and found that he was sitting on my lower section and the placenta was directly on top of him. I had placenta previa since I was so early on it never had a chance to rise. He said that if they had done the lower bikini c-section they would have cut into the placenta and I would have bled out. Scary but glad they got him out alive and all is well!

Hmm. I didn't realize you had a vertical incision on your stomach, my OB did a low transverse cut on my bikini line and then the vertical incision is on my uterus (ie. invisible). I wonder why they cut you vertically on your abdomen.

Anyway, fingers crossed you make it to 36 weeks, hang in there!

My OB gave me the option to do either one. He said with a lower I would then have both and look like an anchor on my stomach lol. He was trying to make me laugh and it worked. We know I will deliver early anyway. We are just hoping to make it to 30 weeks this time and from there if I make it to 36 I will deliver then. Yea with the vescles being at the bottom the classical is prob the best way to go. My Classical is a pretty large scar from my belly button all the way down and pretty wide. The doc that delivered Blake told me it prob wouldn't be very pretty since they had to go so fast to get him out and then check my liver. I just want to make sure I won't start bleeding from those clusters of blood vescles.

Hm. I don't know anything about that, but I did want to chime in that they actually don't usually do repeat classicals unless they absolutely have to. I had a classical with #1, but for my second pregnancy they did not want to mess with that incision and cut across muscle fibers that had healed-again- unless it was too early for a regular c-section, so my second c-section was a "regular" low transverse cut on my uterus. In your case, it might have to be a classical from what you've said here, but that's definitely something to discuss with your doctors.

Unusual finding on ultrasound

Postby rwpokluda » Fri Feb 28, 639253 11:57 pm

So after deciding to take the chance and go for a second baby, I had my IUD removed this morning. Then I had to go back and meet with the Reproductive Specialist since I have PCOS and had to be on Clomid and Progesterone the first time around. So he was astonished that I was even going through with it after reading my history but knew the docs who were watching over me and said I was in the best hands possible. When he did my ultrasound he found 25 full follicles which had turned to cysts on my right ovary and 15 on my left. If he didn't believe I had PCOS in the beginning, he did once he saw that, lol. Then he moved on to my uterus which I head him say "Well that's unusual, you don't normally see that." Then had his resident who was in the room and nurse come over and look to see a large mass of blood vessels attached to the outside of the uterine wall. They changed the view to see that sure enough they were filled with blood and in working order lol. He just kept repeating himself and stuttering not knowing what to tell me. They were all confused on why I had them there considering they are supposed to resolve after pregnancy (which was 3 years ago). He said it isn't completely uncommon bc he has seen a few others like that but it is not normal. I freaked out bc he said they probably wouldn't cause a prob unless I had to have surgery.... well HELLO i will have to have another Classical c-section...SURGERY. So what theyn? He said sine it is on the bottom side it shouldn't interfere with the classical c-section but I am more worried about them rupturing or hemoraging at some point. Has anyone else had anything like this happen to them... and did it work out ok with delivery and all? I was calm before about going through the whole process but now not sure what to think.
