O is a universal donor, so it's compatible with all other blood types. I think I was thinking about it because, I am B+ and my husband and daughter are A-. So there is no compatibility. I was told it plays no factor as well, just seemed strange to me. It is interesting that your second pg went so much better and she had your blood type...but like you said it was probably nothing...

Re : Blood Types
My mom had PE with me & she isn't sure of her blood type (how I don't know). I have A-, My husband has O+, Kylie had O+, she was delivered at 25 weeks and passed away 10 days later, Kyndall has A-, just like me, which we were all shocked about. She was delivered at 36 weeks. Blood type crossed my mind a few times, but I was told it plays no factor.

Re : Blood Types
Dh, me, and all three girls have the same blood type. A+. My mom and dad were A+.
Re : Blood Types
Compatibility between Rh+ and Rh- can be an issue for the pregnancy but it is screened for early in pregnancy and treated with medicine very early. One of the first tests you will have when pregnant is blood typing. I have not seen any studies that link Rh compatibility to PE but the maternal-fetal struggle for blood flow is similar. Does that make any sense at all??
Re : Blood Types
I guess it doesn't matter what the blood type is, but it still is something I couldn't help think about.

Re : Blood Types
I had pre-e and my daughter and I both have the same blood type...
Re : Blood Types
I was wondering about that and asked my OB, but he said that blood type shouldn't have an effect on things..
Blood Types
Does anyone know if there have been studies on blood types and preeclampsia? I was curious because, I had a different blood type than my daughter, she had my husbands blood type. I also was born due to preeclampsia, and had my father's blood type, different than my mothers. It just seems strange to me?
