Oh Jamie, I am so sorry for what you are going through. I think Fiona is absolutely right in that there is just no way to prepare for this. I can tell you my regrets though, for whatever it may be worth, I wish I had someone there to tell me. I wish I had a picture of Andy and I holding Zach, I wish I had handprints, I wish I had one of his blankets to keep, I wish I held him just a little longer - I remember being worried that the doctors were ready to go home, and they couldn't do it until I gave them Zach - don't worry about that, don't worry about them. Don't worry about anything but you, your Dh and your little one.

I am so sorry. It is true that miracles do happen and I so pray that this will be one of those stories. Please know that whatever happens, you have many here praying for you, and sending their love.

Jamie, I am so, so very sorry. This disease is absolutely brutal.

Have they talked about the risk to you, as well, of remaining pregnant? Severe preeclampsia carries significant risks to the mother for cerebral hemorrhage and seizure, as well, and when you evaluate your choices, you'll want to have that information to make your decision about what to do next.

Please keep us posted, and know that there are many, many women here -- far too many -- who have also been hoping and waiting on their babies so early in their pregnancies, and who've been faced with horrible choices.

We'll be thinking of you all.

Oh my. I am so sorry and my heart breaks for you. I think if it were me, I would be inclined to pray for a miracle and hold out. There have been stories of babies as early as yours being given dire cicumstances. They have gotten to a viable delivery. Then there are others that lost their babies regardless. Only you and your dh can make this tough decision. But know everyone here will stand behind you in whatever you decide. I am so sorry.
