i was 30 for my first pregnancy, and 35 for my second.
i did not get PE/HELLP 2nd time around, but did have lots of other issues and GD

i made it to 37 wks and had an elective c section

5 years went by between my pregnancies. I wanted it sooner but i was so traumatised from the first time with Jake that i wanted to make sure my mental health was back on track before i embarked on that oh so scary road again. I didnt think it was fair to the new baby to bring Jakes traumas with us on this new journey. best thing i ever did!!! then Joe arrived at 37 wks and lit up our lives

meeting with a specialist is such a good idea, like julie i met with 3 and they all decided to work with me and with each other, i felt so lucky and looked after if anything did raise its ugly head.

Did you get PE the second time? Probably not...BP was quite high at the end (literally for the 6 or so hours before they delivered...they ran labs several times, but I never asked for the results since I was a bit distracted).

How many weeks did you make it? 32 weeks/38

How long between pregnancies?? 10 months

I also think it's a great idea to meet with a peri before TTC. We got "suprised" and I didn't have a chance to do it before, but really wish I could have.

Thanks in advance... I am trying to convince DH to at least go talk to a peri about having another baby... Talking to a peri was a great thing for my husband and I. We actually met with three until we found the one that was right for us - don't be afraid to seek a 2nd or 3rd opinion.

Apparently you are more likely to develop it later on if you are going to get it a second time but my body didn't get that memo.

Did you get PE the second time? Mild/moderate super-imposed did not require Mag; I'm chronic hypertensive so they let my BP get higher and I did spill protein (2500 mg. The threshold for diagnosing PE in chronic hypertensives is a lot higher according to my MFM.

How many weeks did you make it? 37 on the nose

I was 32 when I had my first. I had sudden on-set Pe that developed in between my 34-36 week appts. I gained 10 lbs in 2 weeks, high bp's and protien. I was admitted to l&d overnight and put on mag. We started induction the next day when bedrest and mag didn't change my bp's enough to go home.

I had just turned 34 when I got pregnant again. Around 32 weeks I had floaters and blurred vision. My bp's started climbing and I had protien showing up. So at 34 weeks I went on bedrest and made it to 37 weeks before we induced. My official diagnosis was PIH because my protien at 34 weeks was somewhere around 290. I never had another 24 hour so who knows. I also had PP PIH. And an allergic reaction to Procardia XL.

It wasn't easy either time, but I don't regret anything. I feel blessed. The first time I had PE I didn't know the symptoms. I thought I had normal pregnancy stuff going on. The 2nd pregnancy I was on pins and needles waiting for any sign. It was nerve wracking, but I also knew what to expect and I had this wonderful forum of women guiding me. I think talking with a peri is a great idea. Good luck with your decision!

1st: 28 years old; Hyperemsis, Severe PE delivered at 32wks. 4 lb 1 oz We thought we would adopt if we wanted more children after this pregnancy but.... a few months later.... OOPS. So first and second child are less than a year apart.

2nd: 29 years old: Pih beginning at 20 wks delivered at 36 Mild PE. 6 lbs 2 oz.

3rd: 30 years old; currently 12wks. NO complications right now! Second and third child will be about a year and half apart.
