I am so sorry about your loss my thoughts and prayers are with you. My husband and I lost our little girl also to PE and HELLP in October. My body went through alot of changes after her delivery. I had a great deal of swelling for awhile. I had a great deal of breast tenderness I had to bine them as my breastmillk started coming in. It was very painful. Many hugs to you guys.

I just wanted to say that I am so very sorry for your loss. I lost my first son when he was born too early because of preeclampsia as well.

My thoughts are with you and your wife,

I am so sorry for your loss as well!!! My thoughts and prayers are with you.

One thing that helped me because I swelled up like a ballon after birth was make sure she drinks PLENTY of water. I wasn't getting enough and that was a major reason why I was swelling so bad.

Again I am so sorry.

I am so sorry for your loss. Preeclampsia is a horrible condition.

I also suffered from swelling postpartum and actually still continue to have swelling at times. Hopefully after a couple weeks your wife will be back to normal in terms of water retention. She can try compression stockings if the swelling continues to be a problem. Is her blood pressure back to normal yet? If not, she might benefit from a diuretic, which would lower the pressure and reduce swelling.

I'm sorry to hear about your loss. As the other posters noted, it is normal to have breast swelling and tenderness afterwards. She may find it more comfortable to wear a snugly fitting bra, like a sports bra. Also, cabbage leaves and cold compresses will help to reduce the swelling. She should avoid warm compresses or letting a warm shower spray on her breasts as warmth stimulates milk production.

Please know our thoughts and prayers are with you and your wife.
