Congratulations and welcome to the world Robbie!!! So glad to hear that you and baby are both doing wonderfully, bummer on the c-section...seems to be happening a lot around here lately!! I never had swelling during my preg, but after my c-section it was horrible and only went away a few days ago (2 weeks post). I too heard that the pitocin increases swelling, plus the bp and section...so it is very normal! Nothing would help mine subside until I finally insisted that my doctor give me something for it. He gave me HCL, I took one a day for 3 days and it was gone like that!! Finally relief, and I can wear shoes again too! :)

My pressures went down in the hospital (laying down duh) but back up once back home, so my dr put me back on aldomet too!! I think you are supposed to be weaned off of bp meds anyways...not just stop cold turkey like my dr had me do!!

Enjoy your new little one!!

Congratulations! So sorry about the post partum swelling. I was told that pitocin also causes swelling, so you got a triple whammy, blood pressure, pitocin and c-section. Most likely you will wake up one night very sweaty and find the water is finally releasing. (I mean VERY sweaty.)

Enjoy that little guy!

Congratulations! I'm sorry things didn't necessarily work out as planned, but I'm really glad to hear that you both came out of it doing well!
