Congratulations Jill!!!
You are truly inspiring to all who have been following your quest. That music you hear in the background- Should be the music that is played when awards are handed out at the Olympics!. Great Job!

GREETINGS FROM NEW YORK CITY #2!!!
I DID IT!
Thanks so much to all of you for your support and interest. What a magnificent race and phenomenal way to see the city. Next time (ha!), some of you have to do this with me!
While I was well behind Lance Armstrong, and even further behind the winner, Marilson Gomes dos Santos from Brazil, I must say I did wonderfully for me! I shaved a couple of minutes/mile off of my half-marathon finishing time to finish the race in about 6:45.
I have many people to thank for getting me across the finish line - some of which are those of you have watched the forum to see how I am doing and shared your support - in particular, Alli and Susan have been great cheerleaders. I also have to thank several of my friends and family: Joanne for generously introducing me to muscle activation therapy; Ed for executing it with such finesse (and pain); Amy for training me off and on since January (courtesy of Lena), Lauren for offering words of advice and encouragement, Lena and Dean for making the trip to NYC and giving me a race day decorative door boost, my brother Jay for escorting me to the starting line buses (at 5:30 a.m.!); my mom and dad for being wonderful supporters; our daughter Brooklyn who picked race day as a day to be incredibly cooperative with subways and millions of other people; Kirsten, Todd, Jes, and Lena who were my race/training course running angels; and of course, my husband Jeff who coordinated race day cheering logistics and whose support during my training was unending!
Is this post too long. . . I think I can hear music playing in the background just like at the Academy Awards. I will close for now, but will update everyone soon with fundraising news!
