Preeclampsia was associated with a higher risk of diabetes adjusting for age, primigravidity, and gestational diabetes (hazard ratio, HR 1.82, 95%CI 1.26, 2.62) and in women without gestational diabetes (n = 30,109; HR 1.86, 95%CI 1.22, 2.84).

Great. Even if you didn't get GD, you're at almost double the risk of developing diabetes. In fact, there's hardly any difference between the two groups.

Did they control for BMI? Did they speculate on the correlation?

I'm just not pleased to hear this and want an alternative explanation! ;-b
