Re: Preeclampsia according to dr.

Hi Cassi, Welcome to the forums. I'm glad you are being monitored so frequently. For me personally, during my second pregnancy, my pressures were mostly normal mid pregnancy but trended higher as time went on. (In my first pregnancy my pressures shot way up virtually overnight). My doc would have me...

Yikes, well I'm glad you are safely delivered!

How are you doing? As you may know, preeclampsia sometimes becomes worse postpartum before it gets better. Here's hoping you have a speedy recovery though!

Re: Doctor won't deliver at recommended time of 37

I would also ask the doctor to better explain their rationale for waiting another week, and make sure to bring up your concerns. How often are your appointments now? Are you monitoring your pressures at home? And of course if anything changes symptom-wise please don't hesitate to call your doc or ev...

Re: New here! 39, 2 PE babies, thinking about #3.

Hi, and welcome to the forums. Unfortunately though we know general odds for re-occurence after a first pregnancy with pre-e, we don't know as much about those who have had pre-e twice. (since we are less common) I wasn't as scared having a second pregnancy, since I knew my odds of re-occurence were...

Re: Trying again after pre-e?

I'm sorry to hear, lupus unfortunately does raise your pregnancy risk. I also have a family history of autoimmune disease, including lupus. Keep us posted and let us know what the MFM says.

Re: Trying again after pre-e?

I decided to try again after having severe pre-e with my first close to term. I told myself that my odds were better in a subsequent pregnancy (and they are). Generally subsequent pregnancies tend to go better. I was watched much more closely, and didn't get as sick since we induced at 37 weeks at t...

Re: Hi

Hi Andrea, Welcome to the forums. I've moved your post to the "Ask the Experienced" forum since it gets more traffic. You could always ask your health care provider for a referral to a MFM (Maternal Fetal Medicine) specialist for a consult since you are high risk. MFMs have more experience and train...

Re: high blood pressure at 27 + 4. Possible pre eclampsia again?

Sorry to hear you aren't out of the woods yet. It is not uncommen for preeclampsia to get worse before it gets better. The theory is the placenta can dump a lot of chemicals in circulation during labor/delivery and it takes a while for your body to mop everything up and heal from the damage. For me ...
