Re: Just Diagnosed

Your doctor is correct that there is no way to tell how quickly or severely preeclampsia will progress. The average time from diagnosis to delivery is two weeks, but that average includes women with little symptoms for weeks or even months, to those who rapidly worsen in a matter of hours and have t...

Re: 27 weeks with twins

I always felt tired the first couple days on a new blood pressure med, hopefully it is just your body adjusting. Of course let your doc know if it doesn't get better or if your pressures start dropping too low. How are your pressures looking on meds?

Re: Just Diagnosed

So sorry to hear you have been diagnosed with preeclampsia, but I'm glad that you have already made it to 36 weeks already. Of course double check with your doc, but I think steroids are mainly for before 34 weeks. My kiddos were induced at 38 and 37 weeks, and they did great, and didn't require any...

Re: 27 weeks with twins

Thanks for the update, please keep us posted on your progress. And of course don't hesitate to head to L&D if you feel the need. How often are your appointments now?

Re: 27 weeks with twins

Are you monitoring your pressures at home? I'm assuming you will turn in your 24 hour collection tomorrow, but when is your next appointment with the doctor? Has your doc given any guidelines on what symptoms or pressures to call in about? Or what would make them more concerned? It might also be a g...

Re: 27 weeks with twins

Are you at the doctor's now? What tests are they running?

If you aren't comfortable with your current level of care you could always ask for a referral to a MFM specializing in high risk pregnancies. Or even head to L&D at a hospital with a high level NICU for a second opinion.

Re: Lost my baby this monday. pls help me understand!!

Hi Renee, I'm so sorry for your loss. There is one small study relating to PCOS you might want to discuss with your doc: http://www.preeclampsia.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=28&t=31256&p=299816&hilit=PCOS#p25571 It is a small study so not definitive but metformin might be worth considering.
