Re : 2nd pregnancy after HELLP?

Ok..that's good to know. Thanks! It sounds like pre-e is super scary too, but it's good to know that a person could possibly have that instead of going straight to HELLP a 2nd time..(although I know that's a possibility as well)

Re : 2nd pregnancy after HELLP?

Has anyone on here who went straight to HELLP w/o pre-e in their first pregnancy had a 2nd pregnancy where PE showed up? I know that statistics say that pre-e is quite likely in subsequent pregnancies, but I wondered if this was true for those of us who never had pre-e in the first place.

Re : How long do I wait

But though my dr said 9 mos I worry because I have been grieving so much that I don't know if my body is healing as fast as it would if I were happy..

Re : Is HELLP similar to allergies?

<t>That's really interesting. Do you know if there's much support or evidence of that theory? I wish a person could just be injected with something then to increase their response! (Maybe someday it will be a reality..)<br/> <br/> Do you know why this tends to happen more in the 3rd trimester...is i...

Re : Is HELLP similar to allergies?

<t>That is confusing! (But you did well explaining it-thank you!) So Caryn, I take it that since it's governed by a part of the immune system that's specific to pregnancy, it doesn't quite act like a regular allergy either? <br/> With my other smaller allergies, I seem to tend to get worse with expo...

Re : Is HELLP similar to allergies?

<t>I worry b/c our doctor said we could try again in 9 mos. which if we were to get pg then, would make a baby due in the summer. The problem with that is I have a bad sun allergy that I get in the summer-with rash and blisters on my skin. So I didn't know if that would be an added problem to a preg...

Re : What is your family history vs yours?

<t>Jules2-I ended up with Class I HELLP. I was sick for 2 weeks though before I was delievered. I had the URQ pain, vomiting, diarrhea, back pain, and a very slight fever. The URQ pain seemed to come and go-it was weird. I was tested for food poisoning at first :(, and then the next week I had the b...

What is your family history vs yours?

<t>My mom had toxemia( pre-e) with her first child (me). She was in the hospital for a month before I was delivered. I was born a month early. (So basically that all started 2 months in advance of when I was supposed to be born)<br/> <br/> 4 years later my mom had a son (my brother) and delivered fu...

Re : Does severity of Class=higher risk for reocurrance

<t>Do you know if these statistics are based on studies where ppl didn't change anything (didn't go on blood thinners etc..for their second pregnancies)? Do you know where these stats come from-are they based on fairly large test group numbers? Do you agree with these stats-because in that case, eve...
