Re: How do they decide-bp meds or mag + delivery?
I agree with Caryn and would add that sometimes they're looking for signs that the preeclampsia is starting to effect your central nervous system. My doc saw that my reflexes were beyond brisk and I had "the headache" and that seemed to earn me a ticket to mag. Like Caryn said, there's no foolproof ...

Re: fibromyalgia and preeclampsia
I know this question is a few weeks old- but I've heard it postulated that fibromyalgia is actually an autoimmune disorder. Given that it is more of a syndrome rather than a specific disease makes it harder to nail down the evidence, but I understand that there is work being done on that. It has bee...

Re: Postpartum bp question
Hi Flori- I'm so sorry to hear about your loss. I've been on the forums a long time and met a lot of people, but horror over tragedies like yours never fade--- As a long time chronic hypertension-er, I can say that my BPS go nuts post pregnancy. The hemodyamic changes your body goes through hit some...

HA! Once the science went the way of the sftball and vegee, it went completely over my head. Thank you guys for explaining it so well! Now, I'll only have to read it about 50 more times before I can comfortably explain it to someone else!

Re: Anyone had a baby before 28 weeks
Happy Easter everyone! Miami, I've been in that exact place, waiting and watching and wishing I had an answer of how to get through subsequent pregnancies... I developed htn early on with my 2nd pregnancy, and spent months on bed rest and relied on the "well, I'm fine this hour and there's no need t...

Re: Does no morning sickness = bad news?
And I was horribly sick for *months* and still ended up with hypertensive pregnancies. I think to some progesterone levels are implicated in morning sickness- but aren't necessarily associated with later preeclampsia.

Re: 13 weeks and PE is Coming Back!!!!!!
@astchick- You poor honey! I'm so sorry to hear that you're geting 'quirky' so early. Being a fellow PCOS'er and now chronic hypertension mom, I totally can feel your pain because I have totally been there. (and am nuts enough to have done it again, and again!) The good news, though, is that you hav...

Re: What do labile bps mean?
Trish, that's the same thing I've heard about labile pressures, too. Another thing to keep in mind is that most women will experience a dip in blood pressure during the second trimester due to the increased blood volume of pregnancy, and then that pressure will rise back up to your pre pregnancy bas...

Oh nuts- it's been almost a week since you last posted, I hope you're safe with babe. I've definitely been there, and have two great kids who's greatest challenge now is their parentage. Please update when you can.

Re: Kick counts
holy moly, this board keeps eating my replies! I've had docs say to start doing them at 28 weeks, and then the next one said 32, cautioning me that when I started at 28 anyway that the baby was still small enough that you may not feel consistent movements all the time. I'm a huge fan of kick counts-...
