20 week update

I'm 20 weeks today and had my level II u/s this past Tuesday! I was so nervous but EVERYTHING was normal. They did a very thorough job even looking closely for heart defects and cleft lip/palate. It's a boy! He measured exactly where he should be right now and was very active. They also did a uterin...

Re: Update & Question

I just had my 20 week level II u/s and they did check the uterine artery to see if there was any notching in the wave form. I still need to read about the test again to better understand what they are looking for. My MFM plans to do it at least monthly if not every 2 weeks. My results were all norma...

Re: Anyone have another child after having HELLP?

Hi Whitney, I too had HELLP come on very suddenly in my 37th week (I had a normal prenatal appt. 48 hrs before our tragedy happened) and my placenta abrupted leading to our son being stillborn. I was told not to get pregnant again mostly due to my poor kidney function...I was on dialysis for 3.5 mon...

Re: Typical Treatments in the 3rd Tri.

Sounds similar to what they are planning for me. I'll be seeing one of my doctors every week (OB alternating with MFM) after 30 weeks and will go through NSTs (have not had those before) and ultrasounds to check blood flow, etc.

Congratulations!

Re: Please help, I don't know what to think

I don't want to minimize your symptoms but the symptoms you are describing can be experienced in a normal pregnancy. I just finished my 1st trimester.. Other causes for headaches: dehydration (that is a biggie!), sinus congestion/pain, tension Other causes for upper abdominal pain: indigestion, hear...

Re: My sister is in intensive care, I need your info/tips,pl

I am late to respond, but wanted to let you know that I was in your sister's condition 6 years ago. I was in ICU for 6 or 7 days, then in the hospital for another 10 days. My main problem was acute kidney failure and they started me on dialysis the day after my son was delivered (stillborn). I remai...

Goodbye 1st trimester!

Just a quick update... Saw MFM today and had full ultrasound. Decided not to do any genetic testing including NT test. Everything looked perfect today! The baby's measurements are exactly where they should be for 13 weeks 3 days. Was told that I don't need to be put on Lovenox, not enough scientific...

Re: Baby aspirin in pregnancy ?

I'm currently 13w3d into my pregnancy and have been taking LDA since I found out I was pregnant. Everything is going well, saw the specialist today and had an ultrasound and everything looks perfect. I also miscarried in Dec. 2011, had a D&C and they were able to test the fetal material to find a ch...

Re: Pre-E and HELLP at 23w5d

I just wanted to write to say that I have been there. My life changed suddenly over 24 hours with the stillbirth of our son at 37 weeks (placental abruption), being diagnosed with HELLP and acute kidney failure. All of a sudden I was having to go through dialysis 3 to 4 days a week. That lasted 3.5 ...
