Re : Finally thought I was making progress...

<t>It just scares me that it is still that high even on two meds...if I was getting these numbers without being on medication I would be much less concerned about it. I just really don't want to live the rest of my life on medication, especially if it only works sometimes! I know I need to be patien...

Finally thought I was making progress...

<t>...guess I was wrong!<br/> <br/> After the baby was born I was put on Procardia...which kept my bp's at about 125-135/85-95 (sometimes a little higher) so doctor added Labetalol as well which basically kept them great all day...110-120/70-83...awesome. Well woke up today and took my bp and it's 1...

Re : New mom of a preemie

<t>Things are going alright. As of now the doctors don't think she will need surgery (but are still watching her very closely), they believe the antibiotics are working for her. They said she'll be on them for about a week and then they will possibly try feeding again...I'm still a nervous wreck...b...

Re : New mom of a preemie

<t>Oh, also forgot to mention that she was put back on the vent yesterday before they transported her to the other hospital...settings are pretty low. And the ultrasound on her stomach did show a little bit of free air still, but they were not too concerned because she still has the drains in and he...

Re : New mom of a preemie

<t>Thank you! No surgery as of now, they have her on another antibiotic and she still has the drains in. They did an ultrasound of her belly/intestines and said they looked ok...they didn't see any "bubbles" or air pockets in the intestine...so that is a good sign. They also said she looked better t...

Re : New mom of a preemie

<t>Grr, well they ended up not doing the surgery. Apparently the person who called me saying they were going to do it had their wires crossed...so they did transfer her to the Children's Hospital down the street, but no surgery as of now. They wanted her there so she can be monitored more closely an...

Re : New mom of a preemie

Well they decided they are going to do the surgery :( She will be getting transfered to a hospital down the street, and they will be doing it there. Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers today. I'm so worried, I hope she can pull through and continue to fight like she's been doing.

Re : I give up.....My BP wins

<t>:( I'm sorry your going through this! My bp's are still high, even on medication. I'm only 2 and a half weeks PP but I'm terrified my blood pressures will never stabalize...and I'm only 22 years old! :( It's so scary and frustrating...I really hope they can find the right medication to help your ...

Re : NEC??

<t>Forgot to update...well apparently is is NEC...I'm really upset they didn't tell me this right away. =/ Anyway, she might be getting surgery, but they aren't sure yet. Said they xrays are not getting worse, but there has also been little change. She has not been acting sick the past few days...th...

Re : New mom of a preemie

<t>Thank you for the prayers! We still don't know if they're going to do surgery or not yet. The doctors want to give her intestine the chance to heal with the antibiotics, but they are seeing no change in the x-rays, it is thankfully not getting worse, but is also not getting better. So we'll see. ...
