Re: New member..checking in

Smunyao, I'm so sorry about your loss of baby George. It's the most devastating thing I can think of to happen. I remember that feeling of trying to figure out what the heck happened to me. The day I went in the docs were telling me I could still make it to 28 weeks or even 32... a few hours later I...

Re: Dealing with PTSD after 27 weeker born

All the things you are feeling are completely normal. I struggled with guilty feelings too (had I been younger, thinner, less stressed, etc., would this have happened?). I have come to learn that really there was nothing I did to cause the preeclampsia and nothing that I could have done to prevent i...

Re: Remembering/short story

What a sweet essay Wooleybear. What a wonderful way to mark Soleil's due date now and in the future. My baby's due date is still important to me too, even though she never made it even close.

Re: Autopsies

I don't really know much about infections and pregnancy, other in my infant loss grief group there have been a few couples who have had babies born still due to infections of some kind. My own mother had an infection with me which caused preterm birth, but (fortunately) I lived. I've never asked if ...

Re: eclamptic seizure heart impaired

Wow, Marlin, it sounds like you went through a nightmare! I'm glad that you are recovering and that your baby Olivia is okay. I also had heart and lung complications during my pregnancy and illness. My obstetrician recommended I not have any more pregnancies. I later saw a specialist who discussed t...

Re: Preelampsia at 24 Weeks

Kathryn- up to a year off work? Wow! My employers would never have allowed that- they gave me exactly what they legally had to- 12 weeks. Like you, I very much needed that time. I couldn't have gone back to work right away. That's cool that you've gotten involved with a charity supporting preeclamps...

Re: Anyone else having trouble TTC after PE or HELLP?

Wow, those miscarriages after trying so long and hard to conceive must have been really difficult. I too have had a lot of trouble trying to conceive after preeclampsia two years ago; however, my doc and I agree this is due primarily to my age (40). I wish you patience and perseverance. and hopefull...

Re: Preelampsia at 24 Weeks

bsherrica, I'm so sorry for your loss too. You're right, going through this experience of a serious medical illness, almost dying, and losing our babies is one of the most- if not THE most- traumatic thing we will ever go through. I'm sorry that you felt so abandoned by your doctor. In my case when ...

Re: 6 months later...

Tinabel it sounds like you went through a 2 month nightmare with an unhappy ending. I'm so sorry little Kerry didn't make it. So unfair and absolutely devastating. Your depression is totally natural. My little one passed away two years ago this week and and I still have days when I feel the pain of ...

Re: Preelampsia at 24 Weeks

Oh Kathryn, I'm so sorry. Preeclampsia took my baby away too. She was also born at 24 weeks, plus a few days. It's the worst, worst thing to have to live with. You asked about how long it takes preeclampsia to go away and it really depends on the individual... I started to improve rapidly after deli...
