Re : Trying to lose weight

I've been doing Weight Watchers, and at my age (54), it's really, really hard. So far, though, I have lost 5-6 lbs, only 25 more to go!

Re : Why can't I get over this already??

<t>My daughter is now 14 ½ and this last birthday was the FIRST birthday I wasn't misty-eyed all evening (her 13th birthday was also her bat mitzvah, and I had HAPPY reasons to be misty-eyed).<br/> <br/> You do need to get help for your daughter's sake as well as yourself. I work with kids, ...

Re : Life after preeclampsia

<t>Bless you for your candor, Alice! It took me some years to recover from the shock of just how abnormal my pregnancy -- after miscarriage and ectopic pregnancies -- had been, and I so miss the "beautiful" deliveries that some of my friends were able to experience.<br/> <br/> HOWEVER...one of the r...

Re : My update - sorry so long

I had to take opiates about the last month of my pregnancy as the blood vessels in my legs were going into spasm causing extreme pain if I even moved "wrong" in bed. My daughter was a bit "depressed" at birth, but that was after a very prolonged l...

Re : seems it is here :(

<t>Kristin, a couple of things come to mind:<br/> <br/> That one blood pressure, where the two numbers were so close together, may have been a mis-read on the part of the machine. The difference between the two numbers is called the "pulse pressure," and it's rarely that low. If the heart rate was r...

Re : Obtaining medical records

<t>Part of the problem is that the laws don't always specify how much the hospital can charge you for these records. One of the reasons I never got the records of my pregnancy, L&D and recovery/ICU time, is that the hospital charges $.25 per page. Given that I was in-house for three weeks, had a...

Re : Perceptions of women's feelings about PE

<t>Yeah, after all, when you're pregnant, you're just "hormonal" and the "fear" isn't of anything "real." I'll join you in the *headdesk*! <br/> <br/> Although I will admit, pre-eclampsia is, realistically, SCARY, thankyouverymuch, and emphasizing and teaching the pregnant patient "you can die, wome...
