Re : Oh wow, completely overwhelmed here!

<t>I also developed my first symptoms at about 24 weeks after flying cross-country. My doctors had given me the OK to fly, and when I came back my ankles were so swollen and I'd gained 8 lbs in one week. I thought it was just from the yummy food in New Orleans at the time (I'd been at a cardiology c...

Re : Preeclampsia years ago...report looking back

<t>Like you, I'm some years out as well. My DD was born at 37 weeks, and because they fed her too early, developed NEC and wound up having surgery to remove her entire large intestine. She stayed in for eight weeks all together.<br/> <br/> Now at nearly 13, she's almost as tall as I am, very active,...

Re : Big Setback

<t>My DD was 37 weeks and developed this her second day of life. She had emergency surgery (was really quite ill) and they removed her entire colon. She had an ileostomy for six weeks then surgery to re-connect what was left. In the first and second surgeries both, they did note that she had signifi...

Re : New Here...(updated, update)

<t>Your risks may also be higher because of the close spacing between babies...your body may not have had enough time to recover in between and get back to baseline. I echo what everyone else has said, and if you have ANY symptoms AT ALL, insist on seeing the perinatologist yourself rather than havi...

Re : Tylenol #3 and breastfeeding preemie

My doctors had me on half-dose Vicodin while I was pumping and OK'd the milk for use...if the neonatologists say it's all right, I'd keep it up. You need to take care of your pain, too! It didn't seem to cause any problems with my DD's growth and development at all.

Re : Traumatized...

<t>The hormones alone may well be contributing to your lack of sleep (works that way in menopause...ask me how I know). I hope you're taking antibiotics for the UTI? Just that, and the recovery process from the PE alone will leave you drained, not to mention the daily trips to the NICU. I know that ...

Re : New to the site!!!

<t>I am so sorry to hear this news. My DH was as traumatized by my pregnancy as I was, as he had to helplessly watch while things went very, very bad for me. However, you have your own "processing" to do -- is there someone (at the church maybe) who can help him with his pain so you don't have to ta...

<t>My mother had it too, she has said that her blood pressure was all over the place and I was 2 weeks overdue, with a really bad delivery. However, it was 53 years ago, and things are so very different now!<br/> <br/> DD has some health problems from her delivery and also has a genetic defect that ...

Re : Echocardiogram results

<t>Maria, mazel tov to you and your little one. It sounds like you'll be getting good monitoring and good care during your c-section, and hopefully everything goes well and you get to take your baby home with you! Have you had steroids for this pregnancy? I'm assuming so, as they're delivering you a...
