Re : Bed rest

Bed rest helped my blood pressure. The Labetalol helped it more but when I would get up and move around and do stuff my BP would spike really high. The bed rest in combination with the meds kept it at a even, acceptable level.

Re : I'm new---On salt restriction...help!!

I don't know.

My OB told me to salt to taste and avoid fast food junk but to NOT cut out salt during pregnancy.

I would follow the advice of your doctor though...

Re : It goes down when I lay down... so what now?

That's the way my bedrest started. My pressures would be in the 140s/90s if I sat up but one my left side they were in the 120/80 or 110/70 range.

I was on bed rest for three weeks before they started being high even while laying down and I went on medication.

One month post partum

<t>Finally my blood pressures are headed down! I've been off meds for two days and the highest reading was 126/90. Luckily it was the only high reading for the day and resting for an hour brought it down so it looks like I'm going to be off meds from now on.<br/> <br/> Little baby girl had her one m...

Re : Noah has arrived! High bp.

Congratulations!!!

I don't know how they diagnose pp pre-e without labwork. However, my BPs also shot up a few days after delivery and have finally begun to normalize at almost a month post-partum.

Re : I just need to vent

Careful! I made a post like this and then went into labor the next day! *lol*

Take care of yourself. I know it's so hard at the end, especially after months of bedrest! I hope you either feel better soon or deliver a healthy little one soon. (((hugs)))

Re : BP question

<t>I'm normally in the 110/70 range for my BP. At first I didn't even think about BP readings so having a spike of 192/112 only freaked me out because I was in the ER and couldn't function from the headache, dizziness, and vomiting. After many sustained high readings and bed rest, you learn that you...

Re : Discolored and sore edema... advice?

My hands and feet would turn bright red when my swelling got bad. I never had a blood clot or infection so it may just be normal for you too.
