Re : My story
<t>Welcome Gabriela. Congratulations on your baby girl! I was also misdiagnosed with Gastritis for awhile, in fact, the OB argued with the perinatologist, who suspected HELLP. My OB tried to discharge me, but the peri overrode the discharge and thank God, kept me in the hospital until I delivered at...

Re : Previous caesarean scar pain
<t>I had a similar experience and was also told that the pain was caused my adhesions and would resolve by 6 months pp. After my pain persisted 8 months postpartum, I finally sought more answers. I am about a year postpartum now from my cesarean. I had persistent pain on one side of my incision that...

Re : Who had a afp test + and have pre-e, HELLP etc?
I had abnormally high AFP and HCG, but a normal amnio. Later, after delivery, one of my perinatologists mentioned that this particular combination, with both being high,is a common pre-indicator for Pre-e and HELLP. I developed HELLP at 24 weeks and delivered at 26w1d.

Re : Article-steroids with HELLP
<t>Hi Angie,<br/> <br/> I have often wondered why I did not get the continuous steroid treatment, especially after the two doses for the baby's lung development really helped slow down the HELLP for nearly two weeks, which saved our son's life. They called the disappearance of my HELLP symptoms the "...

Re : New Here and ?s!!!
<t>Congratulations on your baby boy! I am glad to hear you are getting in to see an MFM. Re : Underlying Disorders/Issues
<t>I had to see my OB, Gastroenterologist, Endocrinologist, primary care, and a General surgeon and got good info, but did not get tested for the regular gamut of underlying conditions, such as clotting disorders etc. I learned from this site that many women see hematologists, so I asked for a refer...

Another piece of the puzzle
<t>I have been very nervous that my docs may have been entirety attributing my HELLP to my adrenal tumor (now removed) and not exploring the other possible underlying conditions so I went to see a hematologist to be sure that I am tested for clotting disorders etc. The results revealed a very low im...

Re : Emotionally Dealing with HELLP Over a Year Later
<t>Hi Beth. I had HELLP and delivered at 26 weeks. My son is thriving and healthy, thank God, but I still suffer a great deal from the experience. It has almost been a year, and I am still putting the pieces together. I finally got my medical records a few months ago and had questions about my lab w...

Re : Worried!!!!! (TMI in post)***Update
<t>Hi Sheri,<br/> <br/> I really don't want to cause fear, but Flu-like symptoms are a classic symptom of HELLP. I had the exact same symptoms you were having two weeks before my HELLP came on. I had stomach pain that I thought was heartburn and took maalox and other otc med to treat it. It was so b...
