Re : New, 23 wks, suspected pre-e
You, your husband and Olivia are in my thoughts. I am so very sorry for your loss. You have an intense period of grief ahead of you, but I hope you will get through it and there will be happier times for your family ahead.

Birth announcement and story
<t>Hannah Rose, my second-born child, was born healthy and well at 38 weeks and 6lb 5oz on Sep 21. <br/> Thank you very much for your support through this difficult pregnancy with this wonderful outcome!<br/> <br/> In short: In this pregnancy I was diagnosed with mild-preeclampsia at 22 weeks and wa...

Re : When would you agree to be induced?
<t>Caryn - very interesting considerations. I would say that if the outcome for pe babies is better for 24-28 weekers, but worse for 32-26 weekers, than maybe the data of the whole group together is inconclusive? I realize that they probably do significance tests on each group separately and they co...

Re : When would you agree to be induced?
<t>Caryn - I am not sure I fully understand your comment. Are you saying there is evidence that pre-eclampsia has something to do with the the fact that human babies at 40 weeks are so "premature" in comparison with other primates? <br/> <br/> Or is your comment about premature (<37 weeks) babies of...

Re : When would you agree to be induced?
Hi Davis - how did it go? It seems you found a good compromise for you.
Let us know when things have settled a little.
I am scheduled for induction on Monday, Sep 21, when I will be 38+1.
I will post how things go.

<r>Caryn, here is the comment I was referring to: <br/> <URL url="http://www.medpagetoday.com/OBGYN/Pregnancy/15360">http://www.medpagetoday.com/OBGYN/Pregnancy/15360</URL><br/> <br/> I cite a few lines related to my posts above:<br/> "There was, however, no cases of maternal or neonatal death in ei...

Re : When would you agree to be induced?
<t>Hi Davis and welcome - I am glad you posted. We can probably both do with a bit of virtual handholding :-). It's a horrible decision if you have to balance the risk between your own and your babies health, although you are now both in an excellent place at 36+ weeks. There were a lot of issues in...

Re : When would you agree to be induced?
<t>Thanks so much for your responses and also for the link to the HYPITAT study.<br/> I wasn't fully aware that the study reported findings for the secondary outcome, but I did read a (reputable) comment by a MFM that critiqued that the study didn't look enough at the outcome of the neonates. I will...
