Re : Chance another baby...or not?!?

<t>I agree with what Caryn sais, but would like another aspect: <br/> the people on this forum are a selected group that are here for a reason. It is also possible, that you wouldn't develop preeclampsia again at all and I beleive this probably is higher for the general population than having it aga...

Re : Chance another baby...or not?!?

<t>Obviously only you can decide if you want to have another baby. I have a 2yr old and a toddler and honestly had hoped to not get pre-eclampsia again. I did but it was not worse than the first time (I have two induced, but full term babies). I had it severe both times, but luckily I was able to ha...

Re : 5 weeks pregnant midwife has scared me

<t>Hi Sophie, <br/> <br/> Sorry you are scared. I had my first child in the UK (severe pre-eclampsia), but diagnosed very late, since it wasn't visible in the routine check-ups (negative or trace dipsticks). The second time<br/> (USA) I was monitored very closely (several times weeks) after week 20<...

Re : c-section recovery, mag vs. no mag

I think mag leaves your body relatively fast after they stop administering it. Something like 30min? (Please check the accuracy of this statement).

Re : Introduction and question

<t>Hi and so sorry about your experience. I had a very strong adverse reaction to the mag and thought I was overdosed, which might or might not be true (long story and doesn't belong here). I think that it is absolutely normal to get PTSD from such an experience. I think you should maybe talk to a d...

Re : Catching pre-e early

<t>I agree with all of the above, however I will say something very controversial (and not backed up by any science):<br/> In my case it was twice labor that kicked my mild pre-eclampsia into severe pre-eclampsia. I wonder if I could have carried my daughter a little longer and given her a better st...

Re : Natural delivery still possible with PE?

<t>I completely understand your emotions. <br/> I had severe PE twice and managed to have vaginal deliveries without pain relief. Since I was induced and on mag, I wouldn't call it natural, but I avoided epidural and CS and antibiotics and a catheder. <br/> Try to stay open to all options and go as ...

Re : Not feeling "right" post partum?

Have you considered to have you thyroid tested? Pregnancy and delivery can increase or reduce your thyroid levels and the symptoms are similar to those you describe.

Re : Birth announcement and story

Thank you very much for the good wishes. Caryn - good point, I have heard that labor can make pre-eclampsia more severe. I will respond in more detail on our "other" thread...
