Re: New Here - 37 Weeks - Need Advice!! *long!*

I had "pregnancy-induced hypertension" which is high BP readings where either number is over 140/90. I ended up with work restrictions starting at 6 mos and finally landed on bedrest at 8 mos, delivered at 38+5 with my son. If you're not spilling protein above 300 its not "technically" PE yet - but ...

Re: Pumping

http://www.d-mer.org/ Check out this link above. APparently hormones caused by lactation and letdown can cause negative emotions, including anger. I might guess that you're angry and upset about your situation (completely normal) and the pumping is just another reminder? I hope you feel better soon,...

Re: feeling helpless... HELP!

Have you had any repeat 24-hr urine tests? Many ladies on here have them weekly or every other wk depending on their case. I had mine monthly and only when I demanded them. I told the OB, Its not a needlestick and I'm the one peeing in a hat or cup, and I really don't mind it, as it provides peace o...

Re: Doppler scan Results...please help

First off, I'm not a dr. 2nd, my daughter had IUGR with my PE pregnancy, but wasn't diagnosed. We moved to a different town when daughter was 2. It wasn't until I was pregnant with my son that the family dr informed me of the PE/IUGR, so then referred to OB for monitoring and prenatal care. I can't ...

Re: Just a few questions?

Do you have a home BP cuff to monitor your BPs? You should start a log and take your BPs a few times a day (I did 4 times minimum, then if it was high and I laid down, I'd recheck to see if it had dropped, but always take BPs sitting up, not laying down). I had an ultrasound at 6 wks to confirm the ...

Re: Pregnant within a year?

can you go to the ER or urgent care and say you think you're miscarrying? At least they can do an ultrasound and bloodwork to check your hormone levels... Feel better soon

Re: Baby in NICU for one month now

My first post was deleted, so will try this again. First, congrats on your little one's arrival! Sounds like she's doing well all things considering. Second, husbands have a horrible time with PE/PIH pregnancies too. Its stressful for them to watch them struggle during a time that should be happy. A...

Re: When will it end (another update)

I'm so sorry you have had such a long haul. Its difficult and emotionally/physically draining, and the stress of worrying about you and the baby don't help either. I can relate a little to the eye trouble. I had an undiagnosed case of retinopathy of prematurity from my own premature birth. When I ha...

Re: IUGR

My daughter was IUGR, born 6 lb 1 oz at 40+2, we didn't know about the PE/IUGR until I was pregnant with our son and my new family dr reviewed my history with our daughter and informed me. I was 15 wks at time and automatically moved to OB and told I was high risk due to my history. At the time I di...

Re: Appt. today

Any way you can find another provider? Have you seen an MFM (high-risk OB, Maternal Fetal Medicine Specialist)? With BPs that high, you should get a 3rd, 4th opinion if at all possible. MFMs are usually at the same hospitals as a NICU. Those BPs are scary high. I had 155/115 during labor, which was ...
