Re: Second pregnancy at 28 Weeks, Having some symptoms..

If you're feeling fluish or having back pain, you might want to look into asymtomatic UTI if your HELLP and PE labs come back fine. Sometimes feeling fluish is just a sign of high BPs - that need to be monitored. It may also be a bug of some kind, especially if you have a child in daycare that could...

Re: What do "floaters" and or "stars" looks like?

I have a chronic eye condition called retinopathy of prematurity due to my own premie birth. The ROP causes retinal tears and breaks, one of the common symptoms of this (for me) is the flashes of light and black squiggly things called floaters. For me they look like little blobs or tadpoles that wri...

Re: Gall Bladder Problem while pregnant

I haven't had GB problems during pregnancy, but a good friend of mine did. She had lots of gall stones. In the end, they delivered her daughter at 37 wks by induction, and the next morning they took out her gall bladder, and she was released in the early evening the next day same as any other PP mom...

Re: Still Swollen and high blood pressure at 9 days postpart

I was swollen with edema for a few wks after my babies were born. Its all that fluid from pregnancy and takes awhile to move out of your system. With my daughter I had a lot of night sweats and slept on towels to save the mattress. You can let your dr know about the fluid if you need to. Continue to...

Re: Labile bps and headache

With the BPs trending up, it might be worth doing the BP home-monitoring and log if you haven't started already. You may also want to repeat the 24-hr urine test. From your signature, looks like you've been down this road before and know what to do. The headaches starting already... some headaches a...

Re: New Here - 37 Weeks - Need Advice!! *long!*

As for induction... I was induced with my daughter and had a very quick labor. With my son, on Thurs 4PM I was <1 cm dilated at dr checkup, went in Fri to be induced and at 7AM I was 2 cm dilated (I thought it was braxton and back pain, it was actually labor) and my son was born about 5:30PM that da...

Re: How rapidly should I expect to advance?

If you feel bad over the weekend, don't hesitate to go into L&D for monitoring and labs. Check the main page of this site for symptoms to watch for. Its better to be safe than sorry. From 30 wks on, I was in L&D every wk for monitoring when my BPs wouldn't drop, my eyes acted up (flashes, floaters, ...

Re: 24 hr 478 at 24.5 wks and 832 at 26 wks...what can I exp

Have you had any other tests? Bloodwork to monitor for any potential for HELLP? NST and BPPs to see how baby is doing? At this stage, with your symptoms, I'd be pushing for regular 24-hr urine labs (but it sounds great that your dr is being proactive with this). You may also want to discuss with you...

Re: Increasing milk supply

Kellymom.com is a good website to check out... it was a lifesaver for me (and no, I'm not related to the website owner). I used More Milk Plus from motherlove.com - it saved my nursing relationship several times for me. Also in my community there's a Amazing Newborn clinic once a wk where they can d...

Re: What is iugr?

I had IUGR with my first, so when I was pregnant with my 2nd, I had NST and BPPs starting about 30 wks. The NST (non stress tests) monitored baby's heart rate and I pushed a button when I felt the baby move at all. The BPP is a detailed ultrasound to measure baby's growth, fluid levels, placenta fun...
