Re: Opinons needed-what time of day to take LDA?

As a PP said, there is a study that shows it is more beneficial if taken at night. I remember my MFM saying there was no logical explanation he could think of as to why time of day would matter, but since there is a study that suggests it helps why not take it at night just in case it really does he...

Re: When did you start taking LDA, and how did it result?

I took LDA during all 3 pregnancies and started/stopped at different times with each. I did IVF to conceive my first 2 pregnancies so I started LDA prior to conceiving as part of the protocol. With my 3rd, I had a surprise while breastfeeding and started LDA as soon as I knew I was pregnant around 4...

Re: When to stop LDA--Caryn? Maybe you'd know this one.

I was on LDA right up until the night before my c-section at 35w6d. It wasn't an emergency, but it wasn't planned. My amniotic fluid dropped to a 2 over the weekend, so my MFM decided it was time. Having the LDA in my system didn't cause any issues during the delivery.

Re: 24-hour urine test at only 14 weeks?

As the PPs have said, they are probably getting a baseline, so they will have something to compare later test to if needed. For instance, PE is diagnosed with high BP (at least 140/90) and 24-hr protein of 300. However, if for example, your 14 week protein comes back at 295, your doctor might not be...

Re: Weekly MFM and OB appts...what am I missing?

I wonder if I could just buy a fetal doppler to check on the baby on my own. I guess this is all stuff I can discuss with my providers, but I just wanted to ask about what else is out there. I borrowed a doppler from a friend to use during this pregnancy, but it is more for "fun" than to check on t...

Re: Weekly MFM and OB appts...what am I missing?

My OB apts are really fast. They consist of: urine dipstick to check protein, BP check, Doppler to hear fetal h/b and starting around 24 weeks fundal measurements. Other than that we discuss the usual concerns...how is my BP at home? Any swelling? Fetal Movements? Any other concerns? From check-in t...

Re: baby aspirin?

Yes, many of us are on baby aspirin. I'm seeing my regular OB in conjunction with my MFM Dr. I see the MFM every 4 weeks and my OB every 4 weeks so I alternate between seeing one of them every 2 weeks. Starting in a couple weeks I'll be 26 weeks and will start weekly visits. It is the same for me, ...

Re: Advice please!!!!!

In my 1st pregnancy I developed PE at 26 weeks and delivered at 26w5d. My daughter passed away shortly after birth. My BP stayed elevated after delivery and I've been labeled chronic. During my 2nd pregnancy I was on labetalol prior to conceiving and had 2 med adjustments throughout the pregnancy. I...

Re: Hypertensive after Pre-e - need help with meds.

You might want to try Labetalol. It is safe during pregnancy and while breast feeding. As for resources, I use the book "medications and mothers milk" and this website: http://www.infantrisk.com/content/webforum.

Re: Constipated/bloated this early?

Aren't you on prometrium or some other form of progesterone supplement? That always increased my chances of constipation. My MFM told me to drink PLENTY of water. Like you, I was already drinking 2 liters per day, but he said I needed more if I was constipated. He also told me I could take Miralax w...
